Ron Bohmer's Career Highlights

Ron Bohmer has introduced much of North America to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s recent work, starring in lead roles in the national tours of Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, and The Phantom of the Opera .

Most recently, Ron starred as the lead in the Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton musical "The Scarlet Pimpernel" on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre.  He also played Sir Percival Blakeney, the Scarlet Pimpernel, on the mini-tour, Summer, 1999 (Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta) before his Broadway opening.  SP 3 closed on Broadway January 2, 2000.  Visit Ron's "Scarlet Pimpernel" page for...

Last December, Ron starred in "Bed and Sofa", a musical adaptation of a Russian silent film.  Ron starred with Jeff McCarthy and Ann Crumb in this delightful musical at the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia.  Visit Ron's Bed and Sofa page for more details.

Ron Bohmer came directly to the role of "the Phantom" after starring as ill-fated screenwriter "Joe Gillis" in the Premiere National Company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s triumphant musical, Sunset Boulevard. Ron received a Best Actor nomination for Chicago's prestigious Jefferson award for his work in Sunset Boulevard.

Ron Bohmer played opposite Linda Balgord ("Norma Desmond") in the premiere national tour of Sunset Boulevard. He had previously starred with Ms. Balgord in the Canadian Production and the U.S. National Company of Aspects of Love.

I had the pleasure of seeing Ron Bohmer in the National Tour of Aspects of Love (1993) at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. This was the first time I saw him perform and was immediately a fan and impressed with his powerful, dramatic voice and acting abilities.

In between the National Tours of Aspects of Love and Sunset Boulevard came a two-year Broadway engagement as "Enjolras", the fiery leader of the revolution, in Les Miserables.

Ron made his Broadway debut as "Fyedka" in the Tony Award-winning Revival of Fiddler on the Roof.

Off-Broadway appearances include "Max Jacobs" in On the Twentieth Century, and many infamous characters in the long running comedy hit Forbidden Broadway. Other national tours include Mame with Juliet Prowse and the pre-Broadway tour of Fiddler on the Roof throughout the U.S., Canada and Japan.

On Television, Ron has been seen on As the World Turns, Ryan’s Hope and in the syndicated film The Last Prom.

A member of the first graduating class of the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, Ron holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Ron is the proud father of two daughters - Cassidy Elizabeth and Austin Danielle.
