"Music of the Night"
In celebration of the third anniversary of Ron's website, a new page is being launched. On the first of each month, Ron will share the "clip of the month", a video clip that will be available for downloading. These are only available on Ron's site. Coming in the months ahead are clips from Ron's benefit performances for Back to Broadway and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and we hope to be adding to the list in the future.

| So, how does it work? The page
contains a very short 15 second preview clip that can be viewed directly
from the site. It will load automatically with the page. Be
patient, it will take a few minutes to complete. The clip is set
to play as soon as it has loaded completely and will play repeatedly
until you click the stop button on your browser.
Below the clip will be a link that can be used to download the entire clip. The full clips range from 2 to 5 minutes and from 10 to 20 megabytes. Though this size file will take a quite while to download to your own computer, the quality quite good and worth the wait. Once downloaded, they can be played using the standard media player that comes with Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT or other software capable of playing mpeg format video clips. Hopefully the questions below will cover anything you need to know. Can I use any browser? For now this page works only with Internet Explorer version 4 and above and AOL version 5.0. It may work with other versions of AOL, but it has not been tested. It does not work using Netscape. We hope to find a way to allow those with Netscape to use this in the future, but at this time the clip preview feature does not work. How do I download the full clip?
** If for any reason the clip download does not complete, no file is saved. How long will it take to download the entire clip? This depends on the speed of your connection. You should try to do this when you can get the fastest connection. Beneath the download link, there will be information on the running length of the clip, the size and the estimated download time with a 56K connection. Many of today's modems are 56K but you are unlikely to be able to connect at that speed. If you connect at 28K, then it will take twice the time shown. If you connect through cable it will be faster. Can I download just a part of the clip? No. If you cancel in the middle or if you lose your connection to the internet the file is not saved. If your internet service provider has a time out feature (like AOL), you will need to monitor the process and use your browser once in a while to maintain the connection. Will I be able to play the clip on my computer? Probably. You will need software that can play mpeg clips. This comes standard with Windows 95 and above. The clips have been tested on a low end 486 computer and played with good quality so the clips should play on most computers. The instructions above explain how to play it once it has been downloaded. How can I get the clips that I missed? Because of the size of the clips, it is not possible to keep all the clips on the site for downloading at any time. The current clip will be available for a month. If there is sufficient space, the clip from the previous month will be available as well. Eventually, the clips will recycle unless there are new clips to post.

| Clip number six is "Music of the
Night". This is from Ron's performance at Back to
Broadway in Cincinnati on March 11th, 2000. Ron
performs with accompanist, Terry Lebolt.
Ron performed the role of the Phantom in the second national tour of The Phantom of the Opera in Providence, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago and Minneapolis. His was a uniquely passionate, sensual and moving portrayal of the character: one that touched audiences across the country and hastened the development of a loyal fan base. Back in front of a hometown crowd at Back to Broadway, Ron took the opportunity to wow audiences once again with "Music of the Night". It earned him a well deserved standing ovation! The last time Ron was on stage in the Phantom of the Opera was August 2, 1998. Finally unmasked, you can experience the raw power of his performance in this clip. As Ron sings, watch his expressive hand movements, which were also a trademark of his stage performance.
