What are you most proud of?

My songwriting and my two daughters.  They are my purest and most original contributions.

Do you have any siblings?

I have an older brother, Cam (short for Cameron) and a younger sister, Kelly.

What were some of your influences while growing up?

"Movie musicals, comic books, television, my mother's constant encouragement."

sunDo you have any pets?

"Yes!  Sandra and I have a dog, Griffin.  Griffin is a black Border Collie mix we adopted from the CACC (Center for Animal Care and Control) in New York."   Ron  and Sandra adopted Murphy, a buddy for Griffin, while they were in Kansas doing "The Scarlet Pimpernel".

Why don't you feature any pictures of your daughters on the site?

"Early on we featured some photos of my girls on the site.  This brought about some concerns from members of our family.  Though I am enormously proud of my daughters, I realize that anything you publish on the internet is available to anyone and everyone.  So, in the interest of that concern, you'll just have to take my word for it that they are stunning!"

Some of Ron's favorites:

**Food: sushi, breakfast in all forms, Italian - with lots of red wine

**Music: Kenny Loggins, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Sting, Indigo Girls, "real" jazz (not that elevator music stuff), Patty Griffin (named his dog after her).

**Places:
Hana (Maui), the Canadian Rockies, California Coast, his home.

sunWhat moves or entertains you when you see a show?

I like a good ride.  I like surprises.  I like to root for characters.  I like to have an emotional stake in the outcome.

What do you like BEST about performing?

Connecting with others - actors and audience members.

What do you like LEAST about performing?

Trying to overcome obstacles like colds, vocal stress, injuries, fatigue....and critics.

sunWhat is you're favorite role you've played?

Aside from Percy, which certainly has been the most fun, Joe Gillis because he was the most complex.  Joe offered a great latitude for subtlety.

What effect do you hope to have on an audience?

I love it when people identify with the feelings of a character I'm playing.  I love it when they say "I get that, I've been there, I know what that feels like..."

What keeps you motivated?

There's always more to do.  There's always further to go.

How have you changed throughout your career as a performer?

I've gotten older.

What is something that you would like to do that you haven't yet done?

Collaborate on more original work with people I respect and admire.
