| From 1994-1996, Ron starred on
Broadway as Enjolras in Les Miserables.
Some of the BohmerBuddies were
first "bitten by the Bohmer bug" while Ron was starring in
Les Miz:
"I was always a big fan of Les Miserables and to have
Ron in it as Enjolras was an extra treat. I used to go at
least once a week, and my brothers were also big fans. My
older brother knew what a fan I was of the show, and especially of
Ron. For my birthday in December of 1995 he had an idea to
write Ron a letter asking him if he would be kind enough to send an
autographed picture to give me as a surprise gift. It was
around the holidays and my brother thought Ron would probably be
busy and would not get it on time or at all. Others have been
known not to answer, but Ron, the great guy that he is, sent my
brother 2 great pictures, one of himself as Enjolras and the other
one a personal portrait. He also sent a note along to my
brother with the pictures. My brother had both pictures framed
along with a Les Miz program in a large silver frame matted
in black. When he gave it to me I could not believe it, I was
so happy. At one point I took a snapshot of it and sent it to
Ron to show him how it came out. He left shortly after to play
Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard and I
never did get to speak with him. I have not seen him in any
role since and am looking forward to seeing him in The
Scarlet Pimpernel on Broadway. Needless to say, he
made my birthday very special by making sure my brother received the
pictures on time. He's really great guy."
